Spring 2013 Office Hours
MODIFIED HOURS DURING FINALS WEEK
Wednesday 12:00 - 5:00 PM
Thursday 12:00 - 5:00PM
The CARA Game Night began in Chapin Commons at 9:00 PM on March 23rd. This program is aimed at enhancing good friendships between residents at Chapin Complex, and relaxing graduate students here who just finished mid-terms. We’ve made thorough research on choosing the games and came up with three that we thought would be fun (as which later proved is) yet safe. As stated in the proposal, the games include “Texas Hold em Poker”, “Three-kingdoms” and “Snakes and ladders”. To make the Game Night more interesting, and really a “treat” to residents, we ordered dinner from O’sole Mio for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians besides refreshments.
The food was delivered right on time, and the games started at 9:00PM. Two tables are set for “three-kingdoms”, while another four tables are for the Poker. We deliberately left the middle area out for snakes- and-ladders. It is much more fun and popular than we hoped. There were more than 50 people coming to play, and the food is delicious! Everybody attending the program was chatting, laughing, eating and enjoying their time here. That’s exactly we expected our program to be. The party ended right before the Chapin office was closed, around 11PM.
We CARA E-board also had a very good time. Besides joining to play, we realized that cooperation within our team is fairly smoothly, and we’ve also developed good collaboration with graduate resident assistants (GRAs) at Chapin through various program preparations. And at last but not least, we should thank GSO for generous support on this program, and other programs CARA hosted. We cannot achieve these much without GSO’s budgets and supports.
